Title: COVID-19 Vaccines Prove Highly Effective Against Delta Variant As the world continues to grapple with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, new variants of the virus have emerged, including the highly transmissible Delta variant. However, recent studies have confirmed that the current vaccines are still highly effective against this variant. The Delta variant, first identified in India, has now spread to at least 100 countries, leading to a surge in cases and deaths in both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. But studies have shown that getting vaccinated remains the best defense against the new strain. A study by Public Health England (PHE) found that two doses of the Pfizer vaccine were 88% effective against symptomatic disease caused by the Delta variant, while two doses of AstraZeneca were 60% effective.
